A Nicolett [sic] Mall trolley/street car would help with that. Similar to Denver’s 16th street street mall. It could use Marquette and Hennepin to make a loop in front of the Post Office.

To bad the city has all but killed a similar plan for a street car.

The pandemic is bringing all the 70's-90's bad urban ideas back to the forefront. Now I see we're onto the "downtown circulator."

The biggest advantage of the 16th St Mall, IMO, is that it's solely a pedestrian mall (with a circulator bus). The major bus route spine is a a one-way pair on 15th and 17th. If we routed the Nicollet buses onto 3rd Ave instead (with bus lanes, since it's still a four-lane street), they would be sped up, access to the east side of downtown would be improved, and we could close Nicollet down for events without making it harder for people to get where they need to go. We could then run a circulator bus as well. I don't think it'll single-handedly save downtown or anything, but the MallRide is a nice option to have in Denver.

If there's going to be any circulator, it's going to serve Downtown-Riverside-Campus-Northeast one that runs in a Washington-University loop.

Gondolas radiating out from a downtown hub, maybe on the near-block of surface parking between Warehouse District LRT, Butler Square, and Glueks....

What is going on 1 block south of 240/Gateway on Hennepin? I got told to gear up for a partial demo, drill and set retention, and a bunch of foundation shotcrete work.

Hmm I know that there's been a lot of talk and need of work on the 90s... but haven't seen anything specific lately. What else is there? Senior high rise and the library?

Only thing I can think of. Which is good news? This building was a bit more handsome then the other Opus projects? Also they skyway was put across there and is dead-ended.

Has the Rockler Fur renovation started yet? That would fit the general area and would probably involve a lot of that type of work.

Demo could mean anything coming from the office. I’m not sure if they meant East Hennepin, not Hennepin. 420 is the address. Glam Doll donuts may want to gear up, if it’s East Hennepin.

420 East Hennepin would make sense I pretty sure there was an apartment building taking up the top triangle area of that block that got approved not to long ago

Okay, time for them to build a 900' tower. I'm half joking, I know one great and unique year doesn't mean they need a new office tower. But, that Target is healthy and growing and has adapted to the COVID and Amazon.com age does make it more likely they will need something at some point. I'm also wondering if companies would be more willing to share their tower with residential units given COVID and work from home and mobile workforce trends? Maybe what a HQ Tower is needs to be re-imagined.

Unfortunately they already have almost entirely empty buildings up in Brooklyn Park. It also sounds like they will be giving some of their employees the option of permanent remote work. They do occupy a large chunk of the city center building so if anything they might be leaning towards abandoning that space.

Target is also one of the biggest supporters of the Blue Line extension as it is basically going to be connecting their 2 major campuses together.
