I like our proposal better. Madison's is so played out. Hello, 2008 called, and they want their overly contrived, Jenga-block style of architecture back.

regardless of style preference is still more dynamic, meets the street Better and from what I can see, has less curb cuts.

Billboard's gone, and the entrance is gated off. Pretty hopeful that they actually get started tomorrow or this week, rather than closing the parking lot and just hanging out for weeks like 4Marq did.

I just re-read this thread. I forgot how big of an argument this was. And I was surprised how much I was not in it. I think it was during the time of June and the consortium. Ugh brain washers. Anyways, at this point I'm just glad to see this project go in as some decent infill.

I'm excited for that ugly-ass spiral ramp to no longer be the most visible thing to eastbound 4th.

So did the construction fence and barricades go up today??

I'm going to ask that some of the chunks of tar with yellow lines be preserved and installed in a meaningful context with a little history plaque grey installed on the new project

Workers are putting up a chain-link fence this morning.

Walked by at 4:30, and it looked like they had basically dug up one of the light poles and called it a day. I'm guessing they'll get started in earnest next week.
