Re: Nicollet Hotel Block
So you're all saying we have a whole squad keeping an eye out for members of "The Consortium". -_-
Re: Nicollet Hotel Block
Do we need to start a fashion log in anything goes?
Re: Nicollet Hotel Block
Apparently. I'll be wearing a black wool coat, brown plaid button-down, and black pants/shoes.

I look forward to an update on the actual meeting... and who wore what.
Re: Nicollet Hotel Block
He always knows exactly what to wear. So cute.
Re: Nicollet Hotel Block
Vertical plan: Hotel floors 3-11, Apartments 12-36. Two levels of underground parking. No mention of 8-12 more floors yet.

Re: Nicollet Hotel Block
Spox, paraphrased: "we don't really know how much all of this will cost to build."
Cool.
Cool.

"We haven't met with Public Works yet to see if what we're proposing works"
EDIT: potential for skyway connection to Eclipse parcel (across Hennepin) is maybe accommodated

Re: Nicollet Hotel Block
There's an obnoxious older white lady gratuitously swirling her wine glass, demanding that every audience question be repeated by the presenter.
She's clearly under the impression that this whole thing is being done for her benefit

Re: Nicollet Hotel Block
Sounds like the "extra 8-12 stories" is something entirely of Frey's imagination. United/StuartCo won't go higher than ~300 units of apartments. IF there are additional floors added, it would be condos, but United seemed pretty uncomfortable with that. They brought up the 10-year statute of limitations thing for owner-occupied units. Frey says "we'd love to see it"

Re: Nicollet Hotel Block
I asked the KARE11 question. United Properties guy says "Nothing would make me happier than to have the Twin Cities version of the Today Show broadcasting from our project."
There's several thousand square feet identified as "other", on the skyway level I believe. This is probably what was once identified as the charter school, but he seemed to leave it open and they would certainly consider a TV studio.

Apologies for asking that question in Chinese apparentlySounds like the "extra 8-12 stories" is something entirely of Frey's imagination. Re: Nicollet Hotel Block
I'm getting the sense that this is just another generic apartment project that was quickly thrown together.
Re: Nicollet Hotel Block
Well, depending on what, if anything, went on behind closed doors before the RFP, it kinda was. It was a super short deadline.

Just wanted to say it was nice meeting some of you for the first time and seeing others again.
I probably should have asked the architect which firm designed the base and which one designed the tower, but it might have sounded snarky.

Great to meet you and some of the others too! It was also good to see the people from United and the architect in person. After hearing the presentation, I am confident that tons of thought is being put into this project and we are going to see a good result in a few years.
Re: Nicollet Hotel Block
So did anyone mention the Duval proposal? or at least hint at the other bids?
