there a few people that break the mold. a guy that lives down the street from me in Elliot Park drives a Ferrari.
He lives on the floor below me.
HA! really?
I really wish you'd stop telling people where I live and what I drive. Shhhhh

The building will be quite prominent coming from the east on I-94. This shot is from the new Portland Avenue bridge.

When I look at some of these aerials of Loring Park I don't see much in the way of available developable parcels. I know there is some space in and around Hennepin Ave and there are also a couple of parcels near I-94 at those church parking lots, but within the view we can see in the above photo there's really not much that could be touched (and I wouldn't want to see most of what's built now torn down, especially the pre-war stuff). It does look like a neat place for mid-rise and high-rise development though, so hopefully it continues to develop and grow as a neighborhood over time (literally and figuratively).

The aerials are nice to view, I'm having an fun time using Apple's Maps app on the iPad to view the area in the 3d flyover mode. Viewing the rooftops of the Loring Park area makes me wonder why more of these buildings with views into the park don't somehow renovate the rooftops with greenroofs or at least patio space up there. That view from 35 stories up shows lots of barren rooftops in need of some sprucing up!

Now I realize how huge it is, with the glass it makes the building seem a lot wider and fuller. What do you all think will happen to the red hair saloon right next to it. I like the saloon, it has been there forever, but now it's just an awkward building. The strip mall should change too, less parking and something more against the street, I just don't know because its one of the few gas stations directly downtown.

admittedly a little disappointed with it's skyline presence from the south but the view corridors from the west and east make up for it. it's going to be an elegant addition to the skyline.

It's still got about 17 floors to go, so it will look quite a bit different from the south by Thanksgiving when its topped off. Also, when the reflective glass and balconies are completed, the southern view of the tower will look much better. I do agree that the east and west views are the most flattering.

Saw this building on my way to Brunch on Sunday. I like how things change as you move along the street and around the building. Will be a great addition to the skyline!!

It's funny but kind of cool with the scuzzy SA in front of what is going to be such a suave, polished building. Urban contrast in the big city!

Not too different from the crappy 7-11 I walked out of in Chicago last week, only to look up and see the beautiful Trump Tower right in front of me.

I'll be glad when we get more buildings like LPM built. It may take a while, but this one will set a precedent!

My guess is the Seven Eleven was not a one-story building in a strip mall, though?

State and Illinois I think.

I would love for Minneapolis to be as dense as that area along the Chicago River, really impressive! This building would actually fit in that area quite well.
