I hope not... I went by there today and Excel energy was removing parts of the sidewalk In front of the Jungle Red. Also more work was being done by crews on 14th (between Lasalle and Nicollet) The concrete dividers was set up in a way that looked to be blocking off half the parking lot (East side) I would guess maybe that's the side they will start on

Or maybe dumberGuy is right and they just really don't want anybody to drive over the fresh blacktop until it has plenty of time to cool. haha

They may still be a long way off from actual groundbreaking, but I sincerely doubt they would bring in concrete dividers simply to repave a parking lot.

I happened to drive by the site today and it's still very much a parking lot as cars were in the lot. Hopefully we gain some insight to the status of this proposal soon.

Mysterious utility work continues. There are several blocked off areas (at least three) in intersections in the blocks around this site with orange netting, etc. I saw an Xcel Truck by one of them today when I was walking home from work--A/C went off and they sent us home...best day ever.

They're almost certainly doing stuff associated with this project. I think we're good.

I'm cautiously optimistic. This will be the best apartment project of them all if it gets built.

This will be the best residential high-rise in the Twin Cities, if it is built (better than Carlyle, Grant Park, etc.).

I'll say you are comparing Apples to Oranges. the other two are more retro, I like them both very much,, They bring class to the skyline. This project is more new international with a whole different vibe. I'm very impressed with it.

Well that's too bad about the repaving, the drills will be returning to the site in the next few weeks.

There's a construction trailer parked in the street on Spruce Place.

I don't think that small trailer is related to this project - it''s a smaller trailer - they have a larger trailer for the Loring Vue project - and that is not as big of a project - and besides - it if was you'd think they'd park it in the lot until the construction was getting closer rather than taking up a few parking spots - just my two cents.

^I'm fairly certain there'll be multiple trailers arriving as this gets fully underway. Just because the trailer there now is small, that doesn't mean there won't be several more arriving once things get cooking.

It's not apples to oranges at all -- they're all recently-built high-rises! We don't have enough of them to group them into periods of architecture or whatever.

Somebody needs to just ask one of the people working on site or in that trailer. Anyone who passes by a lot. It can't be that hard!

I'm so excited for Minneapolis to finally get a new building of skyscraper status! This is our best chance. I hope this trailer is a sign of progress!

Every time I go by I check to see if anyone is working. As of now, I haven't seen anyone, but if I do, I'll for sure ask!

Yeah, I think that little trailer is for some work they are doing at the Eitel building...the street signs say the lane is just closed until August 2nd or something.

Awesome! I honestly think it'll be that simple too! I also think it'd be pretty obvious if he (or she) was being coy about it too.....like if they were not supposed to reveal any info or something. SOMETHING should come from it though.

I drove around the site last night. Nothing is being done & barriers are down. There is a lot of general utility work and road resurfacing in the blocks surrounding, hence the lane closures and trailers. I think US Internet is running new fiber-optic.
