4Marq is just the quarter block at 4th & Marquette. Nic on 5th is the entire half of the block fronting 5th.

It won't be long before this is making a dent in our skyline. Too bad it wasn't another 100ft taller.

I think it would have really been a fantastic project if it could have been at least 3 feet taller.

That skyway connection over Marquette needs a full makeover...it's pretty fugly.

I wonder if the Neimann Marcus building refurb involves any exterior work. It looks pretty unchanged since 1989 or whenever

I like the skyways emerging from the Fifth Street Towers. They are designed to that aesthetic and are some of the only ones in town with glass roofs. Yes, they conflict with the architecture of the Soo Line Building, but what are they going to do? Replace it with a faux-historic skyway with clip-on terra cotta? Or redesign them to fit with the lesser design of the Nic? Because chances are they are going to stay.

I guess I'd settle for something other than burgundy. And yeah, they should attempt to jive with the Soo and Nic on 5th a little better. Maybe full makeover was a bit strong. I'll walk that back to "paint job"

They could look more like a victorian conservatory if they we painted a white/cream color of some sort. That would look nice with all three buildings.

^^^I have no idea why they shut the webcam off. So i'm not much help. My guess is 4Marq will break ground soon and it will eventually block the angle they had the camera focused. Or the angle would have been more focused on that project than theirs? If that was the case hopefully they will set it up again with the camera mounted on a different building.

I'm fairly sure that the new building wouldn't have interfered with the view of the contstruction. Other than that I have no idea. I viewed that cam 3 or 4 times a week and am dissapointed...

My guess: someone forgot to re-up on the OxBlue contract.

I just saw a construction update in May saying that they'd be starting precast in July and glass in August. I'm not sure how much its been slowed down by the constant rain since then, but it sounds like it'll be progressing very quickly for the remainder of the summer.
