I believe they are actually assembling a trebuchet with the intent of flinging the construction materials in the general direction of the upper floors.

I wonder how the price for that compares to our traditional stick built and concrete/steel construction. Also curious about how building codes treat it, especially for fire resistance.

But tsk tsk, dragging us off topic ;)

Of topic? These two buildings are being built with the same technique.

That was discussed awhile back. Archiapolis already touched on this at the bottom of page 1 of this thread with a link that you can further educate your self on CLT technology, and has a FAQ section also.

The Cedar Lake Trail adjacent to T3 and Dock Street will be closed next week for repairs. The contractors will be paying for the work - Dock Street will have some permanent repairs done from construction of that building, and the T3 repairs will be temporary until the temporary retaining wall between the trail and T3 is removed. Permanent repairs here will be in November or next spring.

It seems to be all concrete so far?

Also, the website is up. Seems a little disingenuous to advertise it as being one block from Target Field Station. I mean, it technically is, but it's a four block walk to actually access it.

Additionally, the Cedar Lake Trail appears to be completely repaired.

Like with a lot of steel construction, it looks like they're going to use a concrete elevator/stair core to resist the tendency for a post-and-beam type structure to have racking.

Checked the webcams today to see that there's finally some wood being put in place!

And... let the erect wood jokes commence.

The girth of those members hardly seems adequate.

The girth of those members hardly seems adequate.

One thin wooden member would certainly be inadequate, but as you can see there will be many members lined up one after the other. The cumulative effects of all that wood should be entirely satisfactory.

So, you're saying that with sufficient numbers involved, the girth of the wood doesn't count?

It's not the size that matters, it is how you use it!
