Anyone want to do some sleuthing to find out if this project has a name? Check demo/building permits, etc...
Not that I can find, even the GC calls it 1400 Park. All blueprints label the project 1400 Park. I will ask.

Pre-cast install is 15-20% complete. Exterior walls of the basement are complete on the south and west sides, east side is 50% complete, north wall started last Friday.
The NE corner, at Grant and Park, only has one sub level. Due to the access ramp for pre-cast deliveries, that corner will be built last.
At least 6 weeks until a tower crane gets erected on the south side.

Well I hope someone goes in and stabilizes it soon at least. The roof sag is noticeably worse than when I posted that picture a couple years ago .

Project related: There are now two tower cranes on site (you can actually see one being erected in the pic above) and they've started the first floor of wood construction.

Water main installation is complete. (Park, near 15th)
Sanitary install stubbed to retention wall. (Grant, center of site)
Storm retention system install slated for mid-December. (Park, between block wall and retention wall)
The pre-cast installers are dragging their feet, and the framers will hit an open hole in the ground if the blocklayers don’t get their behinds out of neutral soon.

Sorry I blew up.

Stormwater retention tanks have been installed in the NE corner. The rest of the foundation in that corner (which only goes down one story, not two) can now be installed.
Demolition of the church on the west side rumors are swirling once again.

I was wondering what those blocks were, and why the retaining wall on that side was so far from the building edge.

The new Wells Fargo branch is days from opening (demolition of the old branch will begin ASAP afterwards) and the new 1400 Park Ave project in the background.

I really like how it looks like a building that has been there forever, and Wells Fargo renovated it into a branch.

The last of the foundation work in the NE corner is complete. We should see considerable progress in the coming weeks.

Roof construction will start next week on the south side.
The potain on the north side will be removed on Friday. Backfilling and removal of retention beams on that side should be complete by next Friday.

Hope this one didn't run into funding or some other difficulty. Workers stopped early yesterday afternoon and no work is happening today. Anyone heard anything?

If they got that far with the building, funding was likely secured last year.

It's more likely that there was a case of COVID-19 on the crew than that they ran out of funding. If they let the place sit for a few days and do some cleaning it should be fine I would think??

Yeah I also thought it might be some sort of pandemic related pause. There have seemed to be fewer workers there the last few weeks.

One of the roofing employees. Cleaned house today, back to it on Monday.
They will be screening all workers starting Monday, also. They were not doing that up until now.

This seems to be how South Korea really beat it, I think screening is going to be a big way that we start to reopen.

The crane on Park will be coming down on Tuesday.
We will finish wrapping up the storm water storage tanks after that, including de-lagging the retention wall on that side and remove the H-pile. Backfill will happen along the sidewalk, up against the building we will go up to the grade of the footings of the stoops, yet to be installed. The stoops are in on the south side, not done yet on the west side.
