Can someone explain why the four corners of each scoreboard are left open?
Not actually seeing what you are talking about, but I'd say those area will be for advertising money making.

Based on my experience designing scoreboards for stadiums, you're most likely right in that they'll be fixed advertising panels. Though they may not be lighted as a result of having speakers placed behind them.

Looks like you're right:
In the west end zone, a main display measuring roughly 68 feet high by 120 feet wide will serve as the focal point. This display features variable content zoning to show one large image or it can be zoned into multiple windows to show any combination of live video, instant replays, scoring information and statistics, graphics and animations, and sponsorship messages.

Two wing displays – one on each side of the main display – will measure roughly 43 feet high by 15 feet wide. These displays can supplement the main display or be joined with the main display to show one large image across the entire digital canvas for moments of extra emphasis and excitement.

[...]

The east end zone is a mirror image of the west end zone where a main video display measuring roughly 50 feet high by 88 feet wide will serve as the focal point of the east end zone. Two wing displays, each measuring roughly 25 feet high by 15 feet wide, flank the main display. These displays all feature the same capabilities as those in the west end zone.

I'm guessing the numbers have changed since then because they're still showing the old smaller West scoreboard rendering.

I saw a very good 360* view from the stadium floor yesterday, but now cannot find the link.

Sam Black asked some "influential people" (his words, not mine), what their opinion of the new stadium was. I was fortunate enough to be asked for my thoughts on it! If you're not a subscriber and you're interested in what me and some others had to say, you can pick up a paper copy at the library.

Is there anyone in the world (besides maybe me) that doesn't like the financing of the stadium, but likes, or at least doesn't hate the stadium structure? It seems like everybody is incapable of separating their hate for the deal from their feelings on the structure. It's certainly nicer looking than the Metrodome.

I'd agree, the adult in me hates it because of the financing issues but the kid in me thinks it's the coolest thing in the world :)

Same here. Despise the financing and everyone who was associated with it but love the architecture itself.
