My whole point was, the Vikings wanted to turn Chicago Ave purple. This would do just that while also paying tribute to one of the most renowned personas to ever come out of Minneapolis.

I'd be down for some sort of Prince recognition at the new stadium, as he was a massive Vikings fan and attended their games in his own booth. Prince Way doesn't seem to do any justice to how extraordinary he was.

Did he ever play at the Metrodome?

Not to go too far down the rabbit hole of personal music taste, but I agree Prince was a great producer. However to me at least his lyrics and themes, while I guess they'd be considered "innovative", were just a bit too far out there to capture the maximum mainstream success. I guess that's one reason why his career always played 2nd fiddle to Michael Jackson.
You are very good at your contrarian role.

Ugh these posts will likely all get moved but anyway... I don't think people understand the effect prince had on Music in general. Not just his recorded stuff but the vast reaches into the music industry he made. From his stand against the industry to his production roles to his support of many bands. His songwriting that you don't even know was his. And on and on and on. Guy was incredible for music. We will begin to hear a LOT of his unreleased stuff in the coming years.

Half of the scoreboard is lit up right now. I am not sure why they are testing it that way.

Grant, I would bite but you take just too many good high quality pictures to get into a dust up.

The link to the Star Tribune webcam is no longer even recognized by the Startrib. Does anyone know whether it was permanently pulled or simply down for servicing? I ask because they are putting the "US" shield part of US Bank up on the stadium (at 10:20 pm) and it would have provided good imaging.

I'm assuming it was on their building and since they've moved closer to the core and also their building doesn't exist anymore...

It wasn't on their building, it was live up until today.

I had a feeling that the Prince tribute concert might be held at U.S. Bank Stadium since Prince was a huge Vikings fan and the stadium is so purple. It looks like it's officially on the list as the preferred venue. Sheila E. is in charge of the tribute and said U.S. Bank Stadium is at the top of the list according to the Star Trib. I actually think it would be a good venue for it. I'm not sure that Target Center or Xcel are big enough considering the amount of people that want to go. Obviously it doesn't open for 3 more months but I'm sure they would either wait or since construction is ahead of schedule, maybe unofficially open it a few weeks early for the concert?

Maybe Chicago will get renamed in honor of Prince? Maybe a compromise between Prince fans and Vikings fans could be "Purple Way"?

Thanks! This is not the first time the Star Tribune changed the link on their webcam covering the stadium and did not tell anyone.
