Will the holiday market move back downtown once this is completed?

I was so excited to see this. I haven't seen them silver like that since I was a kiddo. Very nostalgic.

It absolutely blew my mind when I first learned that they were intended to be silver.

I really hope so. Loring Park is not the ideal location.

When I walked by the plaza last night it appeared to be just about complete. All the fountains were on and the pool was full.

It will be so nice to have this space operational again.

Is that going to be before or after the Sommerfest?

Sommerfest began last weekend. They had a small portion of the plaza open for the outdoor music.

Why isn't the city giving this more press?

Just finished checking it out after the ceremony. It's really wonderful, the fountains are such a statement and the presence of water is invigorating. It lacks the polish of a sparkly new park but maintains the character and history of the city and architecture. Children flailed around in the now shallow pool, people in accessibility devices rolled around and walked their pets. What an amenity for downtown.

Nice to meet you today Nathan. If people have a chance to check it out, The fountains and steel tubular sculptures are lit up at night and look fantastic!

With the opening of the restored Peavey Plaza, I think we are really beginning to see Nicollet Mall truly come back to life after several decades of decline Yay!

What's going on with Peavey Plaza? They waited until July 2nd to turn on the fountains. I just walked by at 7:30 pm and the fountains were not on. I stopped by before 8:30 the other evening and the fountains were off.

This is probably the best public space in the city. It's a shame it feels like it's always shut off. It's a shame they are limiting the public's ability to enjoy it.

I think the MN Orchestra is going to be giving free concerts there soon.
