Alatus has informed me this project will break ground the first part of 2020. The design is the same. They have ran into cost and labor shortage issues.

Any rumors out there on this or Alia?
I’ve heard that both lots are for sale.

That's a lot of money to spend planning two developments that never move forward. Sunk costs and all, but wow.

Alatus and it’s failed projects is turning out to be one of the major development disappointments of the year. After tantalizing us with two well designed projects and then apparently abandoning both, it is hard to be interested in whether they will be able to pull anything of substance off. The Arden Hills project seems stalled - no apparent fault of Alatus, and it certainly is arguable that their withdrawal of the condo tower project in Northeast is understandable, but that only brightened the hope for this project, which had the potential to be a wonderful entryway for the south side of downtown.

FWIW, a shortened version of 200 Central showed up on the HPC agenda for next week.

This property is for sale on loopnet https://www.loopnet.com/Listing/228-S-1 ... /22311993/

Apparently this is zoned for 50 stories? Property brochure has some renderings.

It was too bad that this never panned out. I thought it was a pretty good proposal and would have maybe gotten a bit more going on this side of downtown.
