If you hire Bob Stern to design a luxury high rise, you know exactly what it's going to look like. I doubt developers are particularly perturbed by the criticism. My favorite thing with this project was when the Strib interviewed the lead architect at RAMSA and he claimed that the design was inspired by the details of the Warehouse District. It's pretty silly all around, but it clearly sells, and it's enough of a tried-and-true product that it never looks awful.

Maybe the design was inspired by the materials of the curbs and sidewalks in the warehouse district. There is no evidence of anything from the Warehouse District above that. No, this will probably not look awful, just unrelated to anything in its neighborhood.

They're aware that the warehouse district is waay on the other side of downtown, right?

I biked through the lot and they marked the corners of the building with spray paint...that and maybe some utility work is all I saw. (I biked from the tunnel over to 11th Ave jumping the curb separating the two lots.

Has there been any announcement of an official ground breaking date? I thought there had been some talk of construction getting underway mid-August, but am surprised there hasn’t been more hooplas given the scale and cost of this project.

they've spent all their money on instagram ads and the project is now dead. i've never seen so many social media ads for a project with not even a ground breaking.

translated: this project has an extremely strong social media campaign. They seem to be a more proactive on that compared to other big projects.

I don't know about that. I've been getting Alia targeted ads on Instagram regularly as of late.

All I get are ads for Taltz.

Yes rumor is September 16th. There are also what looks to be facade samples onsite.

If "Twelve" was a sly mention of a future project or simply a joke is anyone's guess. However Bernardi did mention a while back that he was looking for an alternate site for his Estelle project, which was down-voted by Edina.

I don't see how the boom would last long enough for a "Twelve, " over here.

To me, there's still substantial unmet demand for new condos in Downtown East and North Loop. This current construction boom has catered to millennials like me looking to rent. But my parents, looking to downsize and move back downtown from the suburbs into a condo don't have nearly the amount of options and have been patiently waiting to move because of that.
