Oh yeah! I just looked up the Coors Field Reno. Much better. I actually hope that someday that they change the 300 level in LF. I wish they were not in the original plans and the whole scoreboard was that much lower. It would make the outfield and whole ballpark have a different feel. I do get that they had to find a spot for cheap cheap seats. Can't wait to see these renderings so it is clear what the plan is.

Target Field is already small enough as it is, thanks to the smallest upper deck in the majors. While I've been to Coors and love their new renovations, it wouldn't work at our park.

Mod Note: The old "Target Field Station" thread and "United Properties Target Field Development Site" have been merged to a single thread to talk about Target Field itself, the station, and the development pad site held by United Properties.

If you go back to the original renderings, there was no outfield upper deck. Then Hines, who kinda backstabbed the Twins on the price of the land, started talking about building "Wrigleyville-style" apartments across 5th St. Suddenly, there was an upper deck and a massive scoreboard in the way

Rick over at Ballparkmagic.com followed design and construction from before the beginning and has tons of info and designs

Taking away quite a few seats, but not like the Twins sell out anyways..

My guess? This is a way for them to have a space they can monetize on non-game-days. Weddings and events would be fairly cool with that view.

According to DSP this renovation will actually increase the capacity of Target Field since it will allow for more standing room tickets than seats being removed.

True, I do like it though. I've sat in those seats before and they aren't the best view. May as well turn them into a standing bar area with more food

I've sat there too. Aside from being completely roasted in the hot sun, they weren't a bad view and we enjoyed the experience. But I do agree that dead center field can be used for more interesting things than the current seats.

This looks like everything I always hoped the Budweiser deck would be. I have always been dissapointed on how that turned out...

The little notch-out that existed next to these seats always bothered me. DSP suggested that this will improve the overall aesthetics of the ballpark, and I'd have to agree.

Too bad we'll be losing the trees... most likely for good this time.

They can move them to the plaza over the freeway.

Yeah, I'm sure they'll find somewhere to plant them. I meant as a visual inside the stadium.

Typical. After one decent season, the Twins are going to re-invoke the Curse of the Trees.

When I went on the Target Field tour, they kept telling us it was the players who wanted the trees gone. It was hard for them to read the pitcher with a tree blowing in the background.
