That's an old sign from Office Depot.
From THIS 2004 article:

The front cover promises a “low price guarantee every day.” The catalog’s other services include free next-business-day deliver on orders of $50 or more, and same-day store pickup.

For some reason I was thinking that was the corner of 7th and not 6th from the angle of the pic. But that does make perfect sense.

They should move Office Depot to the vacant space on the 7th street side and open up this corner for a restaurant. This would be a prime location for outdoor seating to enjoy the mall.

The only thing open on the Mall are the doors down into Marshalls.

I'm running late for a meeting, so I couldn't linger and eavesdrop, but there's a few guys in suits standing on Nicollet Mall, looking up at City Center and discussing empty space and building... something. #unsubstantiatedrumor

Might be potential buyer of the property since it's up for sale.

Nice find! I'm surprised they updated those so quickly!

Thanks! I'm following City Center on twitter and they tweeted a picture them out then I was able to find the pdf version on the Colliers website. Apparently you can find almost any floor plan to a Colliers property on their site

Oh, that's how they'll fit both restaurants onto the skyway level. By getting rid of the Len outlet.

Also, good to see all that space on the ground floor turn blue. Now if they could find something for that big space by the hotel.

Grant, Any chance you want to start pestering Colliers and/or Shorenstein to find out if any substantial exterior changes are planned?

Can we consolidate the Saks and Sports Authority news over here?

I'm sort of surprised they don't extend the path of the Skyway from the Radisson through the retail space to mirror the circulation on the ground floor. Pretty sure it used to do that once upon a time. I'd think it would get rid of some of those spaces that are too deep for convenience retail and open up more Skyway frontage.

Done and done. E-mailed Kris Schisel, the senior associate for retail in CC. And I also e-mailed Joesph Kirk, the assistant property manager.

Response I got back from Kris Schisel:
Hi Grant -

Thank you very much for your attention to what is going on downtown and to City Center!

Yes, it is a tired building and yes, minor changes will be made to the exterior as these stores come to life, but the biggest impact will be how each store designs their new store fronts both on Nicollet Mall!

Sports Authority opens this Fall and Saks opens Winter 2016!

Kris

Great news, thanks grant. I'm not that opposed to the physical nature of the building as to how closed it is to the street. Sounds like this will help fix that!

Very exciting news! Thanks Grant.
I assume Winter 2016 means like 12 months from now, correct?

Well, that would seem to confirm that they'll reopen both corner entrances. Better than the status quo, at least.

I would guess Winter 2016 means more like November 2016, unfortunately. Remember, they've got a lot more to do with their space than Sports Authority does.

If they want to open them up in a staggered way I would think so.
