Looks like there is a construction crew working on the Theatre on Lyndale and Lake. Anyone heard anything about this?
Brew pub.
Here's their liquor license filing: http://www.minneapolismn.gov/www/groups ... 126522.pdf

No food whatsoever, just beer. Regardless, I think they will be extremely successful as the only place one can buy a growler for several miles, and the only one in the entire SW quadrant of the City. Nearest I can think of are Steel Toe in SLP, Harriet at Minnehaha-Lake, and Fulton. Hard to believe Southwest was the last quadrant of the City to get a taproom. North has at least one (Boom Island). Heck, even St. Paul is getting in the game with several popping up along the Green Line.

^ They had the theater open for walk throughs during Open Streets. Huge space. Lots of exposed brick, and much of the plaster molding around the ceiling from the original theater was intact, as well as the old projection booth. It looks like it's going to have a cool aesthetic that blends the historic building with a modern industrial feel.

Meant to post this earlier, but the Suburban World Theater's doors were open on Sunday as the bus went by and I saw large piles of broken up concrete. Any news on what's going on?

Yay, just like the former Falafel King building. Is that space still being marketed? Is the Suburban World space actively being marketed?

Eh, I've been to the MoA MS store half a dozen times in the past year or so.

So they'd have one customer, is what I'm saying.

OMG... literally everyone walking by was peeking through the window. One guy not paying attention tried to open the door thinking it was the Apple store.

Why in the world would you put in a false ceiling like this in this space?

My initial thought is noise control. It looks like it is designed so you can still see through to the mural.
