It went really well-- night and day. A few people had complaints/questions, but it wasn't anything like the pitchforks we saw this spring. Criticism was balanced by support from pro-development attendees. And the developers handled questions MUCH better than they had at previous meetings-- in part because they knew what to prepare for, but mostly because they redesigned the building to address the complaints. So when there were questions, they could say "Yep, and here's what we did."

Hats off to Master to listening and compromising with the neighborhood.

Well, according to MRRDC's Facebook page, a) they still hate it and b) all of the positive comments at the meeting were made by foreigners from other neighborhoods.

But the fact is the people who were so upset at the last meeting, for whatever reason, largely didn't show up this time. I don't know why.

I can see why people who live in the area are upset. What is there now is great. I especially like that parking lot.

Last night, LHENA's board voted against the project by a 4-3 margin.

If you think this project should get built, I strongly recommend that you attend. I won't be able to make it to this one. Please attend and testify in support, especially if you live in The Wedge, Whittier, Lowry Hill, Stevens, East Isles, etc.

I'm going to try to go to the meeting and support this (hailing from Stevens, so my testimony won't be as valuable as, say, a Wedge resident), but it's pretty far down the list of projects being discussed, so I don't know if I'll be able to stay.

Bump. I hope a few of you can make it. I think we (urbanMSP, other supportive groups) may have come up a little short on the support this time, but that's okay!

The Planning Commission will no doubt support the project. Since this one requires a rezoning, it will also have a public hearing at the City Council's Zoning & Planning Committee meeting in a couple weeks. We'll have another chance to get our supportive comments on the public record then.

Everything passed, but with concerns about ventilation in the parking garage and the exterior walls of it.

Also, it sounded like all the votes were 5-2, but for some reason they turn mics off during voting so you can never hear how people vote when streaming online, so I don't know if it was the same 5-2 vote every time or if it kept changing.
