Given that the building was almost certainly in disrepair to begin with, I assume now that inspectors have become involved that this wouldn't just be shoring up the foundation - it would also be fixing everything else they found, no?
Assuming this gets knocked down, I wonder what can realistically go in its place. It's not a huge lot, and you definitely would need to rebuild to modern standards. Maybe another Modi?

This article's title seems to suggest that the building will be renovated and reopen, but at the end it says the owner *could* make extensive repairs to bring it up to code for occupancy. So I don't really know exactly what is happening. Hopefully it stays around.

I had no idea about Lake Blaisedell. That’s facinating, especially since I live on the site.

Lake Blaisedell reappears every few years, when it rains hard enough:

This project got out of the ground but hasn't seen much work in the past couple of months. Is there something delaying the work?

I’ve been asking myself about this project for a while. It just seems to be taking forever. I wasn’t sure if that was just me.

I've definitely seen people on site recently, but I agree that it appears to be moving slow. (This is actually something I've noticed with several other projects recently as well - perhaps the construction worker shortage means less can get done in the same period of time it did just a few years ago).

Would they be moving slower so as not to cause more damage to surrounding buildings? I remember the construction here caused cracks to appear in a building nearby.

The construction schedule could be held up by the wood stud panel deliveries. It's a busy construction season, so projects at the end of the queue for fabrication may have to wait for other projects to finish before theirs get delivery. I don't know for sure, but something similar may have happened with this project's precast concrete deliveries--that pit was in the ground for months with no movement, then all of the sudden the entire podium was erected in a couple weeks.

I thought there was some question as to whether the cracks pre-dated construction or not.

Two cranes are up and looks like they're making progress on the wood framing

This is apparently called “Pure Lowry,” according to the banner now attached to it and this website:
