Today there was a line of cement trucks all lined up for get that roof poured before the big freeze later this weekend. Had a traffic cop there for that outside lane so that the trucks could get in and out as fast as possible.

Has anyone asked for a Greenway connection at Thomas Avenue?

It seems like a great win to make a connection to the greenway, as it adds access without adding vehicle conflicts. But long term it might need to be taken out for SWLRT anyway, so it may not be worth it.

E: Nevermind about SWLRT, this is east of Kenilworth so no SWLRT tracks. There could be Greenway Streetcar tracks ~someday~ but that's far enough out that throwing down a little asphalt doesn't seem like that big of a deal.

Looking good!

Does anyone know if the green space just to the east of this parcel is developable, or is it a permanent green space?

Permanent parkland. Though I'm not sure anyone actually uses it for recreation. It's kind of just nothing, trapped between the roadway and the Greenway. I mean it could be developed, with no real loss to the parks system, given the abundance of parkland in the surrounding area. But I wouldn't count on it anytime soon...

I walked through there on Sunday. It's.. really unpleasant, right up against Lake St. like that.

Probably because lake street should be smaller?

There were concepts from the park board that called for connecting that park space to the south and north using a land bridge and making better connections to Lake of the Isles, Lake Calhoun, and the Midtown Greenway.

Got it in one.

That would be slick. Expensive, though.

It's so nice to finally have that lot filled.

Have they / will they open up a direct connection from Thomas Ave S to the Midtown Greenway? I'd think there'd be some demand from the residents to have a direct access. I think it was previously sealed off for some reason.
