The Walkway - (1312 West Lake Street)
Re: The Walkway (1312 West Lake Street)
With Calhoun Square almost entirely leased, seems like now would be a good time to build something here. With the parking ramp, I would think it would be a perfect spot for ground floor retail and office space above. Get some people in the area and the ramp used during the day.
Walked by the Walkway today, seems to be making some good progress.

A not to be named mortgage company has ceased using the Calhoun Square ramp for overflow parking as of today.

Hmmm, can't be Wells, they have acres of parking. Keller Williams perhaps?
Q. What, what? A. In da butt.

Ah somehow I thought yesterday was Thursday. Fail.

Bumming around in uptown I was surprised to see how quickly a lot of this is above ground now...

Between this, the library, and Lime popping out of the ground and Track29 and Elan getting exterior finishes, there should be plenty of construction to look at in Uptown this spring/summer. 2013 will be a tough year to beat until Midtown Corridor LRT, Mozaic 2.0, and Calhoun Square 2.0 are all under construction in 2015-6ish
EDIT: Moved the resultant conversation to Uptown Projects Map thread, as it was getting pretty general-y. (By no fault of my own, of course )

Was quite suprised as to how much concrete is been put up so far. Those section are going up very fast. I saw that ramp to the lower levels today so they have come along was on the lower levels as well. I hope that most of first floor is complete by the end of this month. With Stick construction starting in the first part of April if not before.

So I was always been wondering from the rendering, and now seeing it built out I'm more curious, but what are the chances that the area jutting out over lake street is a pool? I mean it would be a cool overlook too, but it would be a crazy awesome pool. I am being too lazy to look for site plans I guess...

I have heard that it is going to be a hot tub with 3 sides of glass.
Re: The Walkway (1312 West Lake Street)
That would be (good/too bad) all the bubbles will block the view!

Expect an increase in rear-ending near that area (cars AND people)!

I have a feeling I am going to love the view from the Uptown Cafeteria rooftop! I like it now but the pool will be added incentive to go there
Unfortunately I think this building will block the view of downtown from up there.

that hot tub would be so awesome, but would be 10x better with a glass floor

Did they release any information about who the retail tenants are going to be yet? At the rate uptown is changing I feel like I should be counting down the months until we see some plans for the Cheapo site.

. . . and the other surface lot behind Lunds . . .
Re: The Walkway (1312 West Lake Street)
I think that machine shop and planned parenthood would more likely go before almost all of those?
