Viewed another way, the 2 homes had a total 5 BRs according to the city's property info site. The CPM structure has 13 BRs. Plus the office and commercial space. Definite net increase in density/usage.
I count only 8 BRs with windows though. Seems like something that might be important in 10-20 years once the "contemporary" novelty of the thing wears off.

Walked by today, Just a hole with not trailer or other construction equipment. Will they get the parking basement in before the snow flies!! The stick they can do anytime. The concrete will best be done before the freezing temps for a good set up.

Walk through the allye behind this lot and not a spec of dirt has moved since my last walk by 9 days ago. I see that ReutersWalton is the general contractor for this project and the Laguna Apartment project on 2900 Irving and Lagoon that is going up. Not sure if they can't do two projects at the same time? CPM is also doing the Cheapo site so they better be able to walk and chew gum and do more than one project at a time. CPM will have 3 project now in development in the Uptown area alone with those 3 projects. I'm sure ReutersWalton will probably be the general contractor for that project also.

Was ReuterWalton the GC on CPM's two huge simultaneous projects (WaHu and Radius on 15th)? I bet they outsourced at least one of those jobs to someone else. They've been GC on a lot of the smaller stuff they've done. 1710 is a tiny, simple project (at least once they finish the complicated underground parking situation / connecting it to 1800 Lake). I don't doubt they can handle Laguna and 1710 at the same time. Cheapo site will be several months behind these projects, so they could easily outsource the demo/removal of the Cheapo building, etc. while they are wrapping up 1710 and Laguna.

Both the architect and GC, Pettersen/Keller and ReuterWalton occupy the 2nd floor office space of 1620.

The building where the old Pettersen/Keller and Winston's Barbershop has had scaffolding in front of it. Can't tell if they are rebricking/tuck pointing the ground floor , or possibly getting rid of the paint over the brick. Anyone know what going on with the 1602-1616 building?

If you have a camera the go take them. I have no digital camera. Just making an observation to confirm a prior post made by Anondson.

Looks like the walls of the basement are poured here. Still will have to get the floor poured unless this was only one level of parking. But at this point nothing happening above ground yet.

http://www.1710penthouse.com

The penthouse is for sale! $2.7MM, nbd.

So that would make this the ultimate mixed use project in recent memory, especially impressive given its size. By floor: retail, office, apartments, and a single penthouse condo.

The "outdoor living space" is 3 times the size of my condo. Sounds like an awesome place for someone with the cash!

BTW, there was a fire on the rooftop patio of 1800 Lake a few nights ago. I follow a guy on Twitter who lives there and he was pretty upset about the doofuses who don't know how to run a grill and ended up evacuating the building at 1:30 in the morning.

Pretty impressive fire too, considering the photos I saw on @wedgelive.
