So is the Eagan location. I wonder if they are taking over all of the former locations?

Biz Journal story about Sota Roll / Yogurt Lab transition mentions SV, Apple Valley, Eagan, and West Calhoun, but doesn't specifically mention Uptown (Walkway building). Phil - hast thou seen it with thine own eyes?

Also noted in another story was that Kowalski's would indeed take over the old Walgreens space, nearly doubling in size. Kinda surprising, as the Uptown Kowalski's isn't exactly small. Is the new Walgreens open yet?

Weird...the Uptown location has been closed and signs up in the windows saying it was changing as I go to spin next door at CycleBar. Now to see who made the mistake: the newspaper or the owners?

What's up with the Suburban Theater? Plywood covering the entire entrance. Renovation for real?

It's owned by the same developer as 'CityPlace Woodbury'.

I heard that Heartbreaker in Uptown was closed with nearly everything gone inside. No mention of this on their website or social media. Apparently looked like a normal store just a few days ago. Any insights?

Kind of good tbh. Feels like the brand is starting to die off overall. We could get something that you can't find in the suburbs here!

And the space will probably get leased sooner than Calhoun Square's "new" corner space, former Parella/Frimebar/Il Gato/Figlio space, and upstairs former Republic space. What the hell is Ackerberg trying to charge for rent at Calhoun Square that they're keeping all of these prime spaces empty for so long? Sure looks pretty stupid now that they booted Republic for nothing, almost a year and a half ago.

Anyone have any insights on the old Wuollet space? Crews have been working on it for some time now.

So... Restaurants and bars aren't working there. Maybe they should sell it for a mixed use project?

Further down that post it says it might become a Lotus restaurant. Lotus is opening in Uptown (per their Facebook page announcement in Dec.) but they haven't said where.

Enough with this property. Should have just kept Old Chicago open, especially with Green Mill now closing. Boneyard, Salsa, and now Game have failed.

RE: future development
It's been in the same hands since 2010, when a local investment group bought it, specifically noting its potential as one of the best development sites in Uptown: http://www.startribune.com/old-chicago- ... /94886799/
No idea what's keeping them from pulling the trigger though. They sure seem committed to not developing it for the time being.

But really, is anybody surprised we didn't have the demand to support a gay sports bar? That's like the nichest of the niche restaurant concepts, and this was a pretty big space, right?

Didn't Lotus lose their long-time Uptown location when Calhoun Square expanded?
