World Street Kitchen opened today. If not for the abundance of leftovers in my fridge, I'd be eating there right now.

Republic is also open.
Was at the Republic last weekend. I'm happy to say I'm impressed with the layout/atmosphere. The view of Hennepin & Lake is nice and the crowd was a little higher brow than the other bars around that intersection. Much better than say Bar Louie or Primebar.

Is it pricey? How would you describe the crowd: 25-35? 20-25? 30 and up? Was the clientelle diverse (race/ethnicity)? Did it seem like a welcoming place?

Prices are the same as the West Bank location. $4-6 for a pint of beer with a great selection. Entrees are probably along the lines of $8-$14 or so. Although I usually only eat there at their happy hour for $5 burgers.

As far as the clientele goes, I'd say late 20s and early to mid 30s. Not a particularly diverse crowd with respect to race or ethnicity. I guess its about what you'd expect in Uptown.

French Meadow buying CC Club parking. They already shared the lot (to the south of French Meadow) which was apparently owned by CC, until now. French Meadow's 80-seat expansion is internal, so don't expect any visible changes on the exterior.

Morrissey's Irish Pub to open at 913 W Lake Street on March 14, just in time for St. Patty's Day: http://www.southwestjournal.com/news/bi ... -in-uptown

This is just west of the former Sunrise Cyclery building. The western half of that building is now home to Golden Leaf Tobacco, a pretty fancy looking cigar shop. Spill The Wine will fill the eastern half of the building (corner of Lake & Bryant) and is slated to open in April.

Is Roat Osha closing. I was driving by and saw closing signs all over every window so I don't think it was for a special event. They just remodeled. Anyone know? It is a great location.

I like the smaller scale which retains some of the older neighborhood feel of the area. The Irish Pub next door should be a hit in Uptown given there's nothing else like it. Great to see Lynn-Lake and Uptown merging and filling in along Lake Street. For years , it felt like "no man's land" between Bryant and Girard.

I think it's for a special event. I saw the signs, looked like they said closed 7-10pm on someday in march.

Are you referring to the interior? There are many pictures of the inside with barnwood on the interior...

For Spill the Wine the barn wood is painted black. At the other bar, the last time I was by was natural, which I think will need some kind of seal coat before they open in a few days.

"the other bar" next to Spill the Wine is Golden Leaf Tobacco, which is one of those weird loophole-exploiting fancy tobacco/cigar shops that allows patrons to smoke inside the establishment. It has been open for weeks, by my account. I walked by weeks ago and saw dudes smoking cigars in there on more than one occasion.

It seems that the four most recently posted Minneapolis bars to the MN Department of Revenue Tax Delinquencies Liquor, Wine and Beer Sales Link are all located on Lyndale Ave. City Afrique Restaurant, Cause Sound Bar, MOTO-i and Country Bar. I can't see how they can be related outside of location. Just odd IMO.

That does seem to be an odd coincidence.

I'm also struck by how much shorter the list is than it was, say, three years ago.

There's a dumpster in the parking lot. I passed on the bus and didn't wanna stop to look at the signs in the window. Anyone know what's up? It would be extremely ironic IRL for me if they went out of business last weekend, ha.
