East 7th in Lowertown

Postby Rico » May 4th, 2013, 6:27 pm

There is some new retail on the somewhat troubled but ever promising part of West 7th in Lowertown.

A new high end pet supplies boutique called Cocobear http://www.cocobearpetcare.com/#!home/mainPage

A heavy metal record store just around the corner from Capitol Guitars called Into the Void Records http://intothevoidrecords.com/

And it now looks like the old Blink Bonnie location will be some sort of sidewalk cafe called the Buttered Tin! https://www.stpaulonestop.com/AMANDA5/e ... RSN=188930

I wonder what the story is behind Into the Void -- they opened in Dublin, Ireland in 2010 and in Saint Paul in November 2012.

Cocobear Pet Care is my Stepdaughters place(Maddie Poling - daughter of Chan Poling of New Standard/Suburbs fame). Grand opening party is Saturday the 11th 4-8. Business has been good so far. ANY retail is welcome in DT St Paul.

Sorry to nitpick but is this not actually *East* 7th? I'm not from St Paul so maybe I don't appreciate the subtleties...

Yes. I believe Wabasha is the dividing line.

Yeah. My wife loved pointing that out as well. I was going to edit my message but realized I couldn't also edit the thread subject so I decided to just live with the shame.
