Article says that the hotel car drop off is on Eagle with a pedestrian entrance on 7th as well.
Thank you I missed that, it will be interesting seeing how deal with the significant slope on Eagle St.
honestly wasn't envisioning something this big. It will be nice to add more residents to the neighborhood. The design isn't anything amazing, but it's much better than the Holiday Inn on the other side of the street. I'm still not sure why the city let that building go up with that design is such a prominent location. It would be nice to see one section of this project be 4-5 stories taller than the rest. There are plenty of hospital buildings that are 10-15 stories tall in the neighborhood, so there shouldn't be any issues building this thing a little taller and adding an extra 30-40 apartment units.
I agree on the design and the height thing as well but this a proven development model that will work will in an area that could use more energy and life when the X doesn't have an event. It's a very solid infill project that could have ended up being much worse than it is currently is, and being honest St. Paul isn't in a position to be ultra picky about new projects in downtown at this point.

Opus has closed on their purchase of the 7 Corners Hardware building and neighboring church.

There are barriers in place around this site now. Not sure how long that's been the case, since I usually have my head down looking at my phone as I go by on the bus.

They are starting to knock the church down this morning, looks like things are going to start picking up here!

Demolition of the site had seemed to stall for a while -- I didn't see any significant activity last week when I went by on the bus. A small chunk of the church building is still around. They started taking the hardware store down a couple days ago -- seemed more than half gone this morning.

Nothing left but a pile of debris today

Yeah, it had been a pile of rubble by the end of the day on the 11th. There's still a chunk of the church building remaining -- I think it's sitting on a corner where there are some retaining walls for the basement level, so they might be taking some extra time with that.

Snapped a quick pic of the site this morning from the rivercentre skyway over Kellogg. Image

I saw a giant piece of culvert go by on a semi truck this morning while I waited for the bus. I saw a few similar pieces laid out at the Seven Corners Hardware site, so I'm guessing it was related. Couldn't tell you what it's specifically for, though.

On-site stormwater retention?

Yeah possibly. Something related to stormwater is my best guess.

This is kind of in the wrong spot. Is the Red going to the 7 Corners Hardware site or the Cleveland circle site? If it is the Cleveland Circle site, do we know the branding on the true 7 C H site?

My bad. Hopefully, they'll have some differentiating names come out soon.

They're finally chipping away at the last bit of structure from the old buildings on this site.

This might not be the best place to put this, but I noticed that just a block away from this project, on 7th and Walnut, SW corner,
"DiSantos Fort Road Florists" appears to have closed and it has it's windows papered over.
I am very curious about how this area will look in a few years. So many changes with this project and also the Gateway development.

They seem to be ready for some serious parking as they are at least 2-3 stories below W 7th. They are still digging down. They have pored a few footing for the Hotel portion near the Eagle Grill building. This is going to be a huge project. Is there a PDF on this project yet?
