It might sound a little crazy, but is it both financially and technically possible to replace the existing station with a station on the south side of University? That would remove all foot traffic destined to and originating from the stadium and new development from needing to cross into the middle of University. The tracks would have to jog across a lane of traffic on University but that's also done closer to the capital, isn't it?

Bridges could probably be built without major traffic/LRT impacts. Not so sure about a tunnel. The bigger problem I see is vertical circulation. The split platforms at Snelling are only about 11'-12' wide. If you assume a bare minimum, say, five foot wide staircase, that's already half the platform. If, as seems likely, you need an elevator... The vertical circulation setup at West Bank looks about as narrow as you could get it, and that's more like 16'-18' wide. I just don't see how you can do it.
Just elevate the station then. Yeah there will be disruption as with any project, but then you don't need to worry about vertical circulation down from your skyways.

As a temporary poor man's solution: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dojJFzraiOE

Low cost, low tech... and people Jay walk all the time there anyhow.

Here's the latest report: https://www.stpaul.gov/sites/default/fi ... lans-2.pdf

Apparently no stadium renderings yet. The team is saying they want to wait until they can show something close to what they will actually be able to deliver.

Hell yes, no parking ramps!

Is that a garage underneath the "Pascal Green"? Looks like a sloping ramp on the north side.

Or it could be underground access to the stadium itself. I think they were planning on sinking it partially below ground.

I thought it as an underground ramp as well, but I'm told by people who were at the presentation it's actually a surface ramp. I'm guessing it's a rooftop green? That's the only thing that would make sense, unless they're calling a parking lot a "green".

It looks like a type of paving material that allows vegetation to grow though, so it can allow parking but maybe be a mixed use space?

It also looks to me like each set of buildings or blocks has its own ramp, there are breaks in the trees along the streets for entrances, it might have a bunch underground but the green looks like a rooftop deck to me.

Also. I totally love the shops in the green. This is so good in terms of layout for me. I'm ready, let's do it.

The team president confirmed on Twitter that it's a ramp into the stadium and not parking.

This is a very promising first sketch of the redevelopment. I wonder how much of this is "phase II" kind of stuff and how much of it will actually get built. I think it's a great mix though, and the hotel and residential components indicate that they're bullish on the possibility of anchoring significant redevelopment in the surrounding area.

Looks like they plan on closing the Snelling median at Spruce Tree and putting in a signal at Shields. That should help calm traffic a bit

+1000 on the overall design

Notice Pascal Green has cars rendered on it.

That's why I was thinking it was a multi purpose type space... for events, or food trucks, or parking, or tailgating or... whatever.

I'm still bewildered how they can get grass and trees to grow on a surface parking lot, but apparently it's been done elsewhere so we'll see.

What are the chances this makes it to completion without a ramp or parking of some kind being added to accommodate fans? Gotta think the team isn't crazy about the lack of parking (aside from the pascal thing, which I would think would be more of a gathering space on gameday with events and food and stuff). I'm not saying huge surface lots, but maybe a ramp in place of one of the residential buildings?
