Considering all the young families moving to my neighborhood in St. Paul, I don't know if that makes this more concerning or hopefully just a passing trend... certainly not great for optics.

The problem is too many of those families are sending their kids to charter schools instead of SPPS, and to a lesser extent open-enrolling in suburban districts. I wonder what total enrollment trend lines look like if you add SPPS's numbers to all of the various charter schools around town.
