Schafer Richardson pitches more housing near Xcel. 217 N. Chestnut - Just down the hill from the Opus development. I think that's a pretty desirable location.

An article popped up in the Strib:

175 units. Due to the slope on the site, the developer plans to have two levels of underground parking. It replaces a surface lot which currently has 149 spaces, by my count. I don't see a count of planned parking stalls in the article. The smallest units will be 400 square feet, while the largest will be 3-bedroom townhomes.

Does anyone know if this was approved? I have been keeping up on the St. Paul planning commission minutes and don't recall seeing anything. I walked by today and there is fencing up and digging is well underway. Could be for soil contamination?

Biked by yesterday, definitely well underway. Nice addition and extension of the housing density in the area. I would love to live here.
