There are already some townhomes fully framed on Woodlawn. Definitely doable.

They are expecting the first closing to be in January, wouldn't that mean they would have to be starting site/foundation work soon?

The rowhomes between Woodlawn and Mississippi Boulevard are already under construction.

The units at the corner of Woodlawn and Bohland are the model units, these are due to open in September. The phase 1 map for Rowhome development was provided in the housing update from June.

And the central water feature is looking better with the landscaping established:

A shot of the waterfall feature. Located just of the central water feature, across Montreal.

I saw a comment on Twitter? Has anyone heard about St. Thomas building a hockey arena as part of the development? I don't see it fitting in the master plan, but could be possible for the current Lund's site.

There's been a lot of speculation as to where St. Thomas might build a new arena, but as far as I know nothing has been announced.

Would an arena be a good use of space?

That’s interesting. If this arena is intending to draw any fans from outside the immediate neighborhood it would fit in much better around Allianz Field.

Horrible use of space. Let’s skip putting in a 3 acre surface lot, shall we?

Potentially silly question, but will people be able to play in the waterfall feature? That image reminds me of seven pools in Lowry hill. I used to swim in those as a kid, granted that may not have been officially allowed, but I was like 5. Lol

I could see an arena going in the far southern end of the site, where the future uses are less certain, and urban form isn't as paramount (e.g. some surface parking would be fine, actually). Specifically Block 34 which is noted as "100k sq. ft. light office (2028)", which for obvious reasons will likely never come to fruition. This would be south of Montreal Ave, across from the little league ballfields (synergy!)

On the subject of office development here, I do hope they stick with medical / office for Block 1 and Block 5 in the northwest corner of the site. Good spot for that, though clearly not a sure thing yet. Medical office ought to be more durable of a market than spec office, especially if Ryan plans to build that themselves. Both M Health Fairview and Allina have small-ish clinics in the area, so there are potential users for that space already in the Highland area.

The south end would work if the railroad wasn’t a bunch of greedy butt heads.

Talking with the Pulte site foreman, the rowhomes will have EVSE availability as an option. He did not know the amperage off the top of his head.
Hopefully 60 or 80, and honestly I think the feature should be standard. 5 years from now it will be.

We plan on doing that as soon as they let the water go. Tom foolery and horse play will rule the day!
How can they expect kids to stay out of there?

Installing at minimum 50A breaker and a 14-50 outlet should indeed for code standard by now. Above 50A things do get dicier. Hopefully very soon.
