What are "condo standards" in the context of a tower? Anything 20 (or 25) stories is obviously going to be concrete. Do they do greater level of sound attenuation with condos vs. luxury apartments?
No doubt they're all gonna be over-the-top finished with the Lifetime signature look of 2000s-style granite countertops and grotesque levels of slate and travertine tile.
[I am actually excited for this project. Just wish it weren't under the Lifetime brand.]

The city urged Ryan to go bigger because they’re proposing something east of France.

Ryan added & 8 stories and more affordable unit.

Ryan goes bigger on Edina plans
*LOCKED*
Gist:
The Minneapolis developer is now pitching a 14-story apartment building with 225 units, a second, 90-unit affordable housing building of six stories, a 45,000-square-foot commercial building and a new U.S. Bank branch. The new plan increases the number of affordable units from 80 to 90.
The refined project will be discussed at the Jan. 8 Edina Planning Commission meeting.

It looks like this drawing is simply a demonstration of relative volumes on the property to be developed. The block representing the tower appears to be nineteen or twenty stories rather than fourteen so either the drawing is an error of the note about it being a fourteen story tower is an error. In any case, it will be interesting to see what they actually come up with as a design for this property. I

It does seem that the Southdale district might be the right area of the Twin Cities to locate such a golf store. Not sure about Southdale Center itself, but it’s something.

It sounds like the US Bank site may be delayed a bit. It appears some of the "parts" have shuffled a little bit and they may need to go back to the city again. Part of the delay revolves around the affordable housing portion. Hopefully it's just a little blip?

The reason for the US Bank delay looks to be a change in developer.

Now MA Mortenson and Orion are in, Ryan out, and a 23 story tower along the Promenade is proposed as part of it. Can’t wait for some details.

I have to remember not to read the comments section after articles like this. smh It actually sounds like a pretty decent project but you would think by some of the comments that they're putting in a new city dump.

Plans for the US Bank site are available at on the Edina Development Tracker site (which is pretty nice). It looks pretty good and is certainly an improvement over what's there currently:
https://utility.arcgis.com/usrsvcs/serv ... ments/4013
There's a number of other pretty significant projects proposed for this area, specifically on the West side of France between 66th and 69th (I don't think I've seen this one mentioned in here).

Southdale area is certainly adding density rather quickly and it would be nice to start seeing some transit improvements realized around here so the parking ratios can start heading down on these projects.

The long block between 66 and 69 had a proposal called The Promenade originally. It had a rename. It’s been posted about but it seemed it floundered and had been in limbo.
The US Bank looks really swell.
I hope the Lifetime/Library happens.

The library in the Southdale mall is not going to happen, at least not what was proposed. That was communicated to the library board a month or two ago - but never widely publicized outside of the library. Most likely going to rebuild on the current site (but that's really depend on the county's next couple budgets)

The library director recaped in this month's library board meeting that the library was no longer pursuing lease options for the Southdale mall. That is about 22 minutes in.
