Council pushing all residential because it leave open the future potential of a new off ramp replacing one that drops drivers right at the city hall.

Some seemed frightened of 7 stories though.

The old vacant municipal lot in the center of the district has a new proposal.

Will this finally be the one that breaks ground, or will it be like the other proposals and quietly get cancelled?

The Perkins has been or is nearly demolished. I drove by it this morning and most of it was gone.

With the pedestrian bridge being built across the railroad tracks does this mean the overall development proposed for the public works site was approved? Or is that a separate project that's still waiting on approval?

Seems the ped bridge over the rail trench is definitely a separate thing from developing the site.

Old public works site finally gets something approved by the city council. 86 senior housing units and a restaurant with surface parking.

The optimist side of me: More density and more people who could take advantage of regional rail on the adjacent Dan Patch Line.

The pessimist side of me: More NIMBYs who think regional trains would bring doom and gloom to Edina.

Has there been any movement on the Dan Patch Line or any groups that are helping to push it?

It’s interesting that there will be four continuous apartments in a row between city hall and the library along Eden Avenue.

5 stories of units sitting on top of two levels of parking?

City should add some protected bike lanes on Vernon for all these new residents in the area.
