As much as I see gymnastics in huge demand I never thought about it for this. It’s perfect.

I found a couple of interesting projects on the City of SLP website. 2 apartment projects that I had heard about but hadn't seen, for the SWLRT stations at Wooddale and Beltline.
Also found this proposal near Hwy 7 and Texas. https://www.stlouispark.org/government/ ... /rise-on-7.

Fascinating. Big apron of parking along 7, but right up to the street along Division.

I hope feedback is given about sidewalks connecting to the TH 7 crossings at Blake and Texas.

Rise on 7 will include a daycare and reserve some spots for residents.

The new Louisiana Ave bridge over the creek is completed, with trail connection now linking the Minnehaha Greenway on the west with the Methodist Hospital boardwalks.

New wider sidewalks with bike lanes above the curb, too!

Will the bike lanes eventually be extended north to connect with the Cedar Lake Trail?

I’m fairly sure bike facilities will eventually stretch that far but these lanes go as far as the wye rail crossing.

Plain bad standard sidewalks from there on north.

There’s supposed to be more reconstruction from the wye up to the LRT bridge in the near future to turn Oxford and Louisiana into a traffic circle. That’s probably when the rest of the sidewalks are upgrades to multiuse trails, rather than the bike lanes over the bridge.

A dis-used commercial building is proposed to be redeveloped into a 4-story multi use building. 57 units and 4,000 sq ft ground floor commercial.

https://www.bizjournals.com/twincities/ ... lding.html

The most interesting to me is that it is directly adjacent to North Cedar Lake Trail. The proposal will have direct access to the trail out of the lower level.

Honestly this part of the trail sucks horribly. I friend was jumped right here from a creep that literally attacked them out of the foliage. I’m really pleased to see this and hope it is built.

I’m really glad to see more trail-connected development but there needs to be some separation from the fitness racers and casual users.

Would they include an ADA-compliant ramp from street level to the trail? That would be nice considering the existing option is wooden stairs with the path partially blocked by overgrown trees.

Looks like the current stairs are built in an easement intended to preserve the integrity of the Louisiana Ave bridge. The agenda minutes showed the stairs will be left intact.

Construction equipment on-site. After a million years looks like something will finally get built here.

Just spitballing ideas, but the 600 Metropoint building (20-story tower) would seem, unlike most office buildings, to be a decent candidate for residential conversion. Using the measurement tool on the Hennepin County property map, it looks like the building is just 80' wide. So maybe?

I work in the building and I think it's relatively well leased. But it does have narrow floor plates, so in principle you may be right.

Is there much demand for these conversions in the suburbs? I had thought the Southgate building was going to be one of these conversions when I saw they had taken all the exterior walls off the building but the last time I drove by they were demoing the floors.

I saw somewhere from a totally unknown source that they discovered some structural issues when they started the Southgate project and had to bail on the original plans.

As Anondson noted in the south Minneapolis thread, Wells Fargo is consolidating their office space and pulling out of Metropoint. I'm not sure what their setup is like there - do they have the entirety of one of the buildings? More?

The Metropoint tower (the 600 building) is relatively hodge-podge leased, with smaller tenants on most floors. I think WF may have had large / complete footprint of one or both of the smaller buildings, though.

Source: I work in the 600 building
