In that same neighborhood, somebody should put some pressure on the state to develop some veteran's housing on the unused swath of land they control next to the armory. (Fillmore and Broadway)

The main wood shed that runs N-S through the site is from the late 1870s. A rare building in these parts (they usually burned along with the inventory. Any redevelopment should include that structure. There are few physical reminders of the pre-1900 lumber business in NE.

They should change the street number to 1337.

1337 is old school internet speak for Leet, or elite.

Solhem submitted an EAW for a redevelopment of this site, says Bizjournals. 600 apartments across two 7-story buildings, with 600 parking stalls in the basement. The north building will contain a currently unnamed brewery and taproom on the first floor, which is kinda ironic given the Able closure news that came out, like, yesterday, and the south building will have common areas fronting Central and a retail space on the Tyler St side. Seems backwards, but whatever I guess.

Here's the EAW packet.

600 units!! That’s quite a few. Feel like the retail on Tyler make some sense with bauhaus, dogwood, and spyhouse all fronting Tyler within a couple blocks of there

Bump. 600 parking spots and block-long double loaded corridors, but nothing from Youngblood except the name. :(

I'm so excited for all the development finally happening in this little stretch of Central north of Broadway. I've got to imagine the ice arena's days are numbered, too.

Good point. Now that I think of it, the new apartments going up on the other side of 13th will have a retail/production/whatever space on the Tyler side. Would be cool if a little commercial strip emerged on Tyler here, away from the heavy traffic of Central, sorta like 13th is a couple of blocks off Broadway.
