Got an update on this project at the Prospect Park zoning committee meeting. Prospect Park Properties has acquired the site from Cornerstone they are planning a 244 unit apartment building on the site (178 market units and 66 affordable). The market rate apartments will be in a u shaped 5 story building that will occupy the middle half of the site with a courtyard and 2 story walks up in the middle. The affordable units will be in a 6 story building on 30th Ave. connected to the market rate building by a 2 story common space. No curb cuts on 4th with all parking underground. The furnishings in both buildings will be the same but the affordable units are separated out for financing reasons. Planning to go before CoW in November and hoping to break ground in June.

Also, right next door to this, a storm water biofiltration facility has been completed, featuring a 206,575-gallon underground tank. Here's the project summary and photos on Mississippi Watershed Management's website: http://mwmo.org/projects/towerside-dist ... er-system/

It looks like construction is just starting on this project. The Link is scheduled to be finished in the spring of 18', so I guess they are moving onto the next project in this area. For anyone that lives over here parking is going to be brutal with all the construction workers and new residents.

I went to Surly yesterday. The lot is just awaiting construction - nothing was actually happening that I saw.

I thought they were setting up a crane, but it looks like they are using the crane on the north side of the transit way instead of the south side. I did think it was a little strange that they would start in December.

I think they were initially doing some sort of soil work. The ground work is going now so my guess is 20-24 months and there will be another apartment complex.
