There was a gas station on each corner. My grandfather owned both.
Q. What, what? A. In da butt.

There was a Hardees on this site. Horsey sauce contamination?

Horsey sauce is Arby's, not Hardee's. The Hardee's secret sauce is e.coli.There was a Hardees on this site. Horsey sauce contamination?

From that angle it almost looks like a hospital. It's nice to see something of that size on that side of the river.

Pass this nearly every day. It's easily the nicest of the buildings going up in the U area at the moment.
Re: The Bridges - (950 University Avenue SE)
the building is massive, but I do agree that it's much better than the others. I love how there are so many different angles and the choice of materials.
Re: The Bridges - (950 University Avenue SE)
Is anyone else bothered by the bathroom to bedroom ratio? A three or four bedroom apartment with three or four bathrooms, come on! No wonder this buildings so big. How many of those windows will provide voyeristic views to the traffic on 35w? This whole amenities thing has gone far too out of hand.
Developers complain about cost to build and high rent to justify the investments to attract renters blah blah blah. How much dose it cost to add all this extra shit no one needs, to make it needlessly expensive so that you or I couldn't afford to live there, unless we were privileged enough to have wealth in the family or dumb enough to go into debt through school.

Speak for yourself. A lot of those bedrooms have 2 students living in them. The bedroom/bathroom ratio, while not necessary, certainly is something people look for. Even projects built 10 years ago have this. New projects aren't going to make themself less marketable.

I'm guessing miniblinds are among the many overpriced amenities of this building. How many of those windows will provide voyeristic views to the traffic on 35w?

Am I the only one who thinks this building is ugly? It looks to me like a cheap 90s era university science building and is proof that brick doesn't necessarily make buildings more attractive. Flo Co across the street is much nicer.
Re: The Bridges - (950 University Avenue SE)
Sorry, Flo Co is just about the ugliest piece of crap in the whole University area - and that's saying a lot.by Chef » July 3rd, 2014, 12:13 am

I generally find the building to be inoffensive. It's not beautiful, but I vastly prefer it over FloCo.
