It's amazing how beautiful something as simple as brick can look sometimes -- especially in relation to this gray material adjacent to it!
Re: Stone Arch 2 - (520 2nd Street Southeast)
Just walked past this today while enjoying the weather and was wondering if it was finished. The exterior is so ugly above the brick.
Re: Stone Arch 2 - (520 2nd Street Southeast)
I walk past this almost everyday and that's definitely the finished exterior and it is definitely all kinds of ugly.

It probably expresses it materials better then any other project in town. THIS is cementboard.

Big let-down. This was one that I was very excited about. The brick is fine, but it's above the brick that's bothersome.

Is it possible that they're waiting for the weather to warm up to give it a final paint job? It looks a little splotchy, at least in the photos, so that may be just the primer coat.

Based on the images on the apartment's website there must be a coat of paint coming.

There are a lot of different projects that have yet to get a final coat of paint on their cement board. Lime and the Walkway come to mind for me.

based on the night time image is also supposed to be shiny and reflecting moonlit clouds... but I agree it looks like they'll probably paint it and it will look better.Based on the images on the apartment's website there must be a coat of paint coming.

This appears to be complete and occupied? I couldn't tell for sure- it was dark out when I was in the area.

It does appear to be occupied. I've seen people moving in. I don't think they have finished painting it (at least as of last weekend). I think they plan to paint it a gray, but there were definitely concrete board panels that had not been touched, and there were still spaces under some of the windows where you could see the tyvek wrap. I've notice that painting seems to be taking a long time for a number of projects that are just about finished. I imagine part of it has to do with not painting in the cold, but it has been relatively warm for a while now. This appears to be complete and occupied? This project may turn out to be the poster child for the blighting effect of concrete board on our community.

^^^the darker color makes it look somewhat better. The alleyway is nice.

I'm looking forward to seeing it painted. On the images tt looks like there may be different sheens on panels. Could be a cool subtle way to add detail to it.

That's a great idea that would add a three dimensional quality and work with the brick better. Not very expensive either.I'm looking forward to seeing it painted. On the images tt looks like there may be different sheens on panels. Could be a cool subtle way to add detail to it.

This looks much better with the painted cement board. Not as good as the original rendering, but better than before...
Re: Stone Arch 2 - (520 2nd Street Southeast)
It looks exponentially better now, in my opinion. Yay

From the right angles, that's a fairly handsome building.
