Boisclair passes away (Developer of Galtier Plaza and Riverp

Postby at40man » July 3rd, 2013, 8:37 am

I don't recall ever seeing a conversation about Robert Boisclair on Minnescraper or UrbanMSP, and figured the impact of the Boisclair Corporation on the Twin Cities was large enough to warrant its own topic.

A couple years ago, Robert Boisclair passed away. http://www.startribune.com/business/116632198.html

His two most prominent contributions to the Twin Cities are Galtier Plaza in St Paul, and Riverplace in Minneapolis. While the old retail space has been largely converted to offices, I find both of these buildings to be quite nice. Galtier Plaza, in particular.

Too bad festival marketplaces never seemed to work for long outside of Faneiul Hall, as these were a sight to behold in their heyday!
