Urbanist missed connections

I had an idea to do this when I saw someone photographing the Green Line on it's first week, but then didn't. But then I met someone at a bbq on Friday and I had the idea again.

Anyway, sometimes in the Real World (tm) I'll run into someone that I feel is an urbanist and might even post here, but I don't wanna be that guy that approaches people I meet and ask them if they're from the Internet, so here goes.

I was at a back yard bbq at a friend's house and met someone and we discussed the Frankly & Lyndale project and the neighborhood opposition to it, and the parody of that opposition. You're on the board of whatever neighborhood you're in, and discussed building a wall between certain NE neighborhoods (humorously of course).

I sat right behind David and his toddler at the SWLRT meeting in Minneapolis but I didn't know it was him, because I don't know what any of you look like.

Guilty as charged...and I may or may not have been drunk when spotted.

Finally spotted someone I recognized from here on the Green Line.

I could feel the judgment radiating through the whole train. :D

Okay, I've no idea where to put this, but is anyone familiar with a grouping of radio towers/antennas either in West St. Paul or further east/southeast of there. I am trying to figure out how far I can see from the top of my new apartment building.

Hard to say. I guess it depends on where your apartment building is located. Can you upload a picture?

Are you seeing a close tower? The old WLOL tower (currently KMNV) on Frontenac Place just across the border in St. Paul south of I-94 (fun note, "Prairie Home Productions" occupies the studio building at the base of the tower). That's my guess. Otherwise if it's an array you're seeing further south, there's a transmitter cluster near Cedar Avenue and Cliff Road in Eagan, though I've never been able to identify its use.

Cedar and Cliff is AM 980 (Salem Communications' Christian-formatted talk station, KKMS). Have to think about anything further southeastward -- about to dash from work here.
