Happy Hour!
Re: Happy Hour
I think Stp is fine, and a few of us could probably help with some car pool, if mplsers wanted rides home etc etc...
Re: Happy Hour
St. Paul Bulldog at 6 PM on February 26th it is! I'll make a Facebook thing when I get home. We have a lot more Facebook fans then we did when we had the last one, so I won't invite everyone by default, but you should still RSVP.

I haaaate to keep waffling, but I see that there's a Wild game at 7 on the 26th...so I'm going to go with the 27th.

Alrighty, here we are:

Like I'd mentioned above, the Facebook page has a fairly large reach and so I'm not going to send out invites except to people I know specifically. If you could join the event page so I can get a good ballpark estimate how many people are coming, that would be great.

Re: Happy Hour
Oh my, that is too far for me. I have to come one of these times....if it makes it's way back to uptown next time or the time after, I am there!
Re: Happy Hour
Ditto for me. Would be fun to have it along the Greenway sometime when the weather is better. All the projects will be far along in construction, and it should be quite an exciting time for us urban development geeks!Oh my, that is too far for me. Re: Happy Hour
It's downtown St. Paul, not River Falls...
Re: Happy Hour
I would offer to give people rides still, but I have band practice Wednesdays, so I'm out.
Re: Happy Hour
I'll be taking the bus from Roseville to St Paul and then the 94 back to Mpls. I'll be stack my hours a bit to leave early enough to arrive when it starts and then catch the 94 by 9:00, even though I live sooo far away. Cold rain aside it's very doable, as is my 40+ minute one-way commute to/from work by bike (when it's a bit warmer and less slushy).
Re: Happy Hour
Well, I don't really feel like driving 15 miles in traffic after working 9 hours, or a 40-60 minute bus ride. So it may as well be River Falls. lol. It's downtown St. Paul, not River Falls...
Re: Happy Hour
Turns out my practice is cancelled, So I'm up for it again, and probably will drive down University as to avoid 94... I get off work about 5:30 if anyone wants a ride send me a message and such...

Re: Happy Hour
I could also haul one or two people from Mpls to St. Paul, although I will likely subject myself to 94.
Re: Happy Hour
MAtt there are several ways to St. PAul that do not include 94. Used to drive them for years.I could also haul one or two people from Mpls to St. Paul, although I will likely subject myself to 94.

Re: Happy Hour!
I wasn't planning to go because I am also going to DT StP the very next night for the free Local Current concert at Amsterdam Bar and have to work at 8am the next day. However, since my meeting ran über-late tonight, I can go in late the next day.
EDIT: I'm driving now that I know St Paul meters are free after 5pm. Plus I want to get down there a little early & check out Union Depot.

How's that bike ride going? I'm enjoying my $3 (OK $3.40 with tax) late night HH Summit Winter Ale. Stay warm!
Re: Happy Hour!
Thanks guys for the great Happy Hour and the great conversation. I really miss being able to Urban Geek out with others that can carry on a knowledgable conversation about the things that we talk about on here. Look forward to the next Hour! Thanks again

Thanks for coming out everyone! We'll probably do another in a couple months.

Re: Happy Hour!
Warmth was not a problem. I always forget how shitty St Paul's bike network is, though. I ended up just riding on Marshall most of the way. The ubiquity of people who choose to doublepark in a bike lane rather than take an open parking space a few yards away is incontrovertible proof that 90% of the apparent adults in our society are, in fact, infants. How's that bike ride going?
