Happy Hour!
Re: Happy Hour!
Was good to see such a large crowd grow over the course of the evening. Did not believe that there were that many of us that get into this joy. See you next time.

Re: Happy Hour!
Great turnout, including a mayoral and city council candidate! That's pretty neat. I wish I could have stayed longer and eaten more wings.
Next event: Thursday, November 14.
What/Where: A tour of LIME. 2900 Lyndale Ave S.
Meet at Herkimer for happy hour beginning at 5pm, then at 6:30 we'll head next door and take a tour of LIME.
Mod Note: This post has been corrected from the earlier date that was cancelled, so the ensuing conversation below might confuse you. Thurs. 11/14 is the correct date.

Cool, I might actually be able to make this one, if y'all don't mind a baby tagging along for the tour. I probably can't do the Herk though.Meet at Herkimer for happy hour beginning at 5pm, then at 6:30 we'll head next door and take a tour of LIME.

Re: Happy Hour!
1. The Happy Hour thread needed to get bumped up to the first page of anything goes.
2. I'm planning a weekly "urbanists night" for the next 7 weeks to get urbanists together. This will involve a little bit of volunteering on strategic campaigns to move the City Council forward on urbanism. Then, it will involve partaking in evening happy hours or some other sort of imbibing/socializing after the sun goes down. Just sayin'

Re: Happy Hour!
Does this have to anything to do with a certain city council campaign?
Probably best to be a bit more upfront.

Re: Happy Hour!
I'm organizing it for my own campaign but I've been talking with people from two other urbanist-friendly campaigns about crossing over especially with the social function. So, it's likely for multiple campaigns but we're in the middle of figuring it out.
Rest assured, if I organize a specific event for my specific campaign, yes I will bill it as such. This was more to get some feedback on the concept. And I've had discussion with friends who are involved with a number of other council campaigns offline, and they like the concept too.

Re: Happy Hour!
Shoot! The developer leading the tour is going to be out of town that day.
We can still do a tour, but it wouldn't be led by the developer... we were going to be led by Brent Rogers of Greco.
Thoughts? I'm inclined to reschedule rather than forge ahead. I feel like I'm not the only one in this group that would want to ask Mr. Rogers a few questions.

I wouldn't mind a reschedule, I can't make this date as I am out of town until the 27th.

Re: Happy Hour!
Hey all. I really need you to RSVP to the Facebook event if you plan on attending the tour of LIME. I need a headcount. If you're not on Facebook, you need to tell me right now if you are going to attend the tour.
Thanks and hope to see your smiling faces at Herkimer on the 14th.

Re: Happy Hour!
Sho' iz.
See everyone at Herkimer around 5. We will leave Herkimer for the tour promptly at 6:30pm.
If you haven't RSVP'd on The Facebook or told me (via PM or this thread) that you were coming, you are still welcome to come to the Happy Hour portion. We have to cap the tour at 18-20 people, since that's what I told our gracious hosts.

Herkimer was on one of the top 10 restaurants for health code violations last year or something. So don't worry, you're not imagining it.

Re: Happy Hour!
Did anyone happen to grab my black bag containing the "Metro Center '85" book?
I think I left it at the freaking VFW after the tour last night. I thought it was right in the middle of the table we were sitting at.

Re: Happy Hour!
Winter Happy Hour January 22nd or 23rd? I nominate Downtown Minneapolis.
