I was browsing through different public transport systems and I was quite impressed with the C-train. A couple things i noticed are that there are numerous tunnels and bridges that speed up travel time and that the stations are well connected to the surrounding communities with walkways to stadiums, malls and park and rides. I couldn't find newer numbers but in 2007 45% of downtown workers used transit, with the C-train's daily ridership being 309,900.

I was wondering in the differences are in zoning and land-use patterns between Canada and the U.S that result in the high usage these lines and their metro areas having more definite boundaries.
