How many acres is this site? Looks small!

Here are a few photos of the site. Still not much to see, but I was over there anyway. ;)

Bizarre story on the Strib not relating to this specific project, but to the developer:

Poor Doran. So much being thrown his way recently. Hopefully he actually wants to continue developing in this city given this ridiculous situation.

"If I were a 9th Ward resident, I would want to bathe after meeting Mr. Schiff."
Ouch. Then again the person that said it (fmr. Councilmember Minn) was using a fake alias on an online forum. This story is crazy.[/offtopic]

Has anybody checked the Minnescraper archives? I seem to recall some posts regarding Minn projects that didn't quite pass the smell test.

Kind of forgot about this, but drove by it the other day, and it looked like they were getting close to ready for stick. Not exactly winning any speed contests here.

They've finished the first level of stick above the concrete, and they've also started laying brick on the rear portions of the building.

Looks like they gave up on some of the design details, such as the alternating window placement from the rendering. Bit of a bummer as that added a bulk of character to this rather minimalistic building.

Looking back at the original designs, it appears that there's a couple of different buildings. The 2-3 story low-rise and the part of the building that is closest to the corner and 5 floors are both tan with normal windows/spacing. Then there's a grayish portion that rises seven floors between the low-rise and mid-rise, and this is the portion of the building with the uneven window spacing (possibly seen here in the picture just above the 2-story tan bldg with the windows space tightly together. It's my hope as well that the final design matches the original design, since this was one of my favorite projects before construction started.
