I'll likely go to this meeting out of curiosity.

Pretty sure I've posted something to this effect on every page of this thread, but I'm just all sorts of irrationally excited about this project. And I'm still completely pissed? baffled? annoyed? that Opus can't follow K/A's lead and stick all their effing parking underground. Not to mention pull off four active block faces and honest-to-goodness mixed use. Le sigh.
The problem with being an introvert online is that no one knows you're just hanging out and listening.
Re: New Kraus-Anderson HQ (9th St. S/5th Ave. S)
Can we offer them a block swap? For real!?
Re: New Kraus-Anderson HQ (9th St. S/5th Ave. S)
this is the best development happening downtown.
Re: New Kraus-Anderson HQ (9th St. S/5th Ave. S)
I'm looking forward to seeing the construction fences going up around this block. Curious to see if they start working on the 8th street side and work their way towards 8th. This would allow for the Portland to get as much work done before they have to squeeze the traffic lanes down. Hope they have most of the Portland 8th street side done so they will be able to get the construction barriers of the north side of 8th before the south sides are put in place or the restricted lane period is shorter.

I totally agree. I was looking at the prior ideas proposed by Kraus Anderson. They really did a nice job making full use of the block. Hopefully we get to see more developments like this. Way to go KA!!!this is the best development happening downtown.

Totally forgot to include the underground parking in my original post! I absolutely agree that this is best development happening downtown. What I find most interesting about this development is how KA threw in everything after offering zero initially - isn't that how it played out? It reminds me of encouraging toddlers to share:
"Kraus, it would be nice for you to give Minneapolis a cookie. You have plenty and Minneapolis has none."
"FINE! Take my cookies! Take all of them! Have my juicebox, too - you want a brewery? THERE. And a HOTEL? TAKE IT! I'll even give you a WOONERF! AND HOUSING! OVER SIX STORIES! NOW ARE YOU HAPPY?"
Yes. I'm happy.
Re: New Kraus-Anderson HQ (9th St. S/5th Ave. S)
Was reading F&C today at the library. Sound like they plan to start work in April. They will be doing it in stages with the parking done first, the office tower and hotel/brewery done so that both are open by the Superbowl. the apartments would come last, but had hoped that the whole project would be done in by 2019.
Finnegans will be the owner of both the brewery, event center, and the hotel. So we will see how that works out for them.

Equipment on site! Anyone know what this is? Pile driver?
Re: New Kraus-Anderson HQ (9th St. S/5th Ave. S)
I have no idea, but I would assume that is for taking samples? I wouldn't think a pile driver would go on site until the have cleared the site of all asphalt and concrete. But I am not expert.
Re: New Kraus-Anderson HQ (9th St. S/5th Ave. S)
This is a great view!!!! I now realize how many open blocks there are available for development in that area...

It looks like there may already be some interior demolition based on the dumpster and storage trailers.

So I just want to clarify, The office building, Brewtel and Finnegans brewpub are phase one, and then the apartments are phase two? You'd think with the news that demand for apartments downtown isn't slowing they'd just go for it, or do you think they just want that space for staging materials and then they'll do the apartments right after?
