I'm loving how recently it just says "Stadium" like it's a labeled kids book.

Ha. That joke totally went over my head.
Here's a page where I've chronicled downtown east for the past few years. I'm planning on putting this together as a book at some point.

My favorite part of that sign installation was when it said "dium". Squint just right and it looked like "dum".
The problem with being an introvert online is that no one knows you're just hanging out and listening.

Road by when it was like that and wanted to, but did not, stop for a pic.

Why not just keep it at "um"? That's what the majority of people think when they see the stadium anyways

Looks like they're installing the video display on the prow right now.
Re: U.S. Bank Stadium Construction Updates
Looks like that HVAC duct on the concourse level will be blocked by a display or ad board.

Re: U.S. Bank Stadium Construction Updates
Somewhat related... the Metrodome freeway signs are coming down and the US Bank Stadium signs are going up. The Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority is set to pay just over $46,000 dollars for this when all is said and done.
http://www.startribune.com/last-vestige ... 376537551/The Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority (MSFA) will pay $46,480.32 for the new aluminum signs which will feature white lettering on a brown background, according to MnDOT project engineer Nariman Vanaki.
One of the overhead signs shares a panel with Augsburg College in Minneapolis and another shares a panel with a hospital. The college will pay just over $20,000 for its new sign while MnDOT will cover the cost of the sign for the hospital, according to the contract awarded to Global Specialty Contractors, which will hang the stadium signs on bridge decks or overhead fixtures.

I really couldn't get behind renaming Chicago Ave, Vikings Way. I think I could get behind Prince Ave though. Dumb idea or fitting tribute?

This may be sacrilege, but he wasn't that good of an artist. Ditto Dylan. Sorry.

Dylan was a fantastic songwriter but a mediocre-to-poor performer. Prince was on a completely different level. Prince excelled at multiple aspects of music production; a genius, even.
There are not very many people who could do what Prince did. He's not on my regular playlist but I still appreciate genius.

Not to go too far down the rabbit hole of personal music taste, but I agree Prince was a great producer. However to me at least his lyrics and themes, while I guess they'd be considered "innovative", were just a bit too far out there to capture the maximum mainstream success. I guess that's one reason why his career always played 2nd fiddle to Michael Jackson.

I guess it depends on how you look at it. For me, "innovative" is way more important than "popular." For example, I don't care for a lot of Miles Davis' stuff (and neither did the "popular" crowd) but I still recognize he was a gigantic force for change in music. Not to go too far down the rabbit hole of personal music taste, but I agree Prince was a great producer.
