I noticed that they are in full swing for the re-skinning of the restaurant corner.Anyone know why Normandy just tore up half of their pretty new parking lot? You can see it on the KA Block webcam.

Also: that parking lot was falling apart. On the side they haven't done (yet?) there are potholes and crumbling asphalt everywhere.

Normandy Kitchen also has...
Application for Sidewalk Cafe License (expansion of premises)

Though it is on the sidewalk, not any sort of patio replacing parking:

Also interesting in there, Kacey White of the Locavore debacle at Oak Station Place is applying for a liquor license for the current Le Town Talk Diner, renamed Town Talk Diner & Gastropub. I don't think they're closed, but they must be selling?

Decent shape to get redeveloped into something other than a parking lot.
Re: Downtown Minneapolis General Topics & Development Map
Grant then it must have been deteriorating fast. Parts didn't look like asphalt, they looked like asphalt colored gravel.

Looks like they are doing the other half of the parking lot today.
Re: Downtown Minneapolis General Topics & Development Map
This is really interesting conversation. Which part of the lot do you think they will put the asphalt on first and in which direction will the steamroller go? Who is taking pics?
Re: Downtown Minneapolis General Topics & Development Map
This building is so frustrating. The corner of the hotel with the Normandy sign fronts the sidewalk pretty well. However, the rest of the building is so awkwardly situated on the lot I don't think development of the parking lot is possible without demolishing the entire lot and starting over.

Re: Downtown Minneapolis General Topics & Development Map
So, shouldn't their repaving trigger a site plan review which should require landscaping around the perimeter of the lot? Hello, CM Frey, wasn't that one of your pet peeves?

Re: Downtown Minneapolis General Topics & Development Map
What's the deal with the Normandy Inn? Is it a normal hotel? Who stays there?
Re: Downtown Minneapolis General Topics & Development Map
It's a Best Western... so yeah anybody with the cash.
Re: Downtown Minneapolis General Topics & Development Map
Still not totally sure what that means!
