Re: MSP Airport
I always opt for the "direct" flights on Southwest as well... One nice thing is that once they empty the plane, they simply do a headcount to make sure they match up with their manifest for how many people are staying on the next leg of the flight. Once that's done, you can move up to the bulkhead or exit row before they board the other passengers.

Re: MSP Airport
Somewhat as expected, Southwest extended their schedule through March 7th. Nothing additional for MSP except the return of a Saturday-only nonstop to FLL. Starts January 7th through March 4th (as of now).

Re: MSP Airport
I was at the airport yesterday. I flew back from Orlando Florida on Delta Airlines. In my opinion, the baggage claim for terminal one is absolutely disgusting. Yesterday, for some reason, it smelled like rotten eggs. I also feel that the lighting is poor. The lighting in combination with the floor makes it look absolutely dark and unpleasant. It will be nice to see the baggage claim area spruced up a bit.

Our baggage claim is in need, as is our ticketing area. The evolution of MSP continues - and the future looks a lot brighter.

Re: MSP Airport
Can anyone lead me to the current status of the airport's expansion -- specifically the extension of the concourse(s) on the southwest side of the airport (concourse G?), along with the additional parking ramps (I believe the project would costs $billions)?

Re: MSP Airport
Some info on the T2 Gate Expansion. Interesting note on page 10 of the document, MAC illustrates potential 2016 usage and layout. It would appear Sun Country will take over H1-H7, Southwest with H8-H11 and some overflow at night and in the morning to H12. Then there is an A320 at H13...no clue what airline they are referring to for the gate.
I believe this document was from earlier in the year, however I just came across it today.

Re: MSP Airport
So that document lists all the international arrivals, and I see it doesn't list LGW. I guess I'm terribly out of the loop, but we don't have direct service to/from LGW any more? I thought the DL CDG service was in addition to LGW, but I guess it was instead. When did that flight go away?
Re: MSP Airport
The Delta London flight goes to Heathrow now....

Re: MSP Airport
Correct, LGW is no more. Delta flies to Heathrow. For some reason, it is not listed on the document as well as the FCO (Rome) flight Delta operates seasonally.
Re: MSP Airport
Ah, the London flight was completely unlisted in the document, but I didn't know it had switched to LHR. I wonder why they did that - I loved going in and out through LGW.
Also, did anybody else notice the file is named, "Houston Airport System Automated Passport Control"? Gotta love consultants.

Noticed the file name as well. Overlooked for the same reason you do. Pay so much to consultants and they often miss the details.

Re: MSP Airport
This document is referencing flights that happened 2+ years ago. Sun Country flew to LGW (with a stop in Newfoundland) a few summers ago.

Where does it reference LGW?
Re: MSP Airport
Thanks! I hadnt really looked at the plans before. I guess I always hoped for a (now) third security checkpoint on T level straight up into the main terminal. So those coming on public transportation and didnt need to check bags could bypass the two main terminal checkpoints. oh well....It will all be done in phases over the next 4 years, with over $100 million in investments.I was at the airport yesterday. Re: MSP Airport
Unless I'm misunderstanding, that's exactly what the existing skyway checkpoint is, isn't it?

Any source on that, or just your own speculation?
Re: MSP Airport
Just conjecture, but Sun Country and Southwest are all 737 fleets, but JetBlue flies A320's. Of course, so does Frontier and Spirit...
