Yup!So the future parking garage would be on this parcel here? https://gis.hennepin.us/property/map/de ... 2924210380
There is talk about that lot being turned into a park or at least a large portion of it. I know the UP project at 701 Washington is allowing for a pedestrian connection through the block to access the "future park" I have no idea how realistic it is or not.As Grant alluded to, a large parking garage built on this site will allow for the development of the massive 2.5 acre Bassett Creek Business Center parking lot, which is also owned by Schafer-Richardson.
Has anybody actually seen anyone go in that place since it 're-opened'? I've kinda tried to peek, but don't really want to risk someone taking my picture at the door!Hey, anything that brings more bodies in to Club Jager is a win-win!
If the NL could get something like Uptown Target, that'd be a big win for the neighborhood. That is a big commercial space...wonder if they already have CVS or someone in mind...
It would be great to get something like Target here, but I'm a little skeptical this is the spot for such a place. This is effectively the end of the North Loop. If you're relying on a lot of neighborhood/foot traffic, you've essentially cut off half your walkshed, because everything to the north/west is highway and industrial. It would seem that if Target (or CVS, Walgreens, etc.) wanted to serve the North Loop, they'd be better off moving a little further into the neighborhood. That said, it's hard to imagine what else would go in such a large space? If the NL could get something like Uptown Target, that'd be a big win for the neighborhood.
