My initial thought is "wouldn't it have been easier to re-create the columns?". But I guess they are preserving 'something'.

i think the rest of the facade has been preserved as well but was removed for construction. it will be installed at a later date. that is my understanding from reading something by someone somewhere at some time in the past.

I actually took a few yesterday, but unfortunately I can't compete with spectre000's great angles. Those are awesome!

I'll post mine soon if he doesn't have any recent images to share.

Here's one from Nov 8th.

And for those wondering, the steel and concrete your seeing is just for the parking portion of the building (three levels (underground, ground, and mezzanine). The residential portion will be wood framed.

You can see more at the link to my photo set on Flickr. I update the progress regularly.

Good thing they got that solid concrete building out of the way. Go wood!

I was happy to walk by and see concrete (poured and block) because residential buildings of this size are typically wood framed and i thought we are so lucky that they are using a more permanent framing. so now it is not so special after all...

I took a few photos from the street level of this one. It's an aggressive looking construction site - I like it.

Thanks, spectre000. I was hoping a webcam would be set up for this project.

I took quite a few of this. With how tight this building's neighbors are, this area will feel quite a bit denser. I like this part of town.

I haven't had the time to get out lately, but after this one (hopefully) final gross weekend, I will be out in full force!
