Turned out to be good for ingress and egress, as I observed the day before it burned...

Sign in the window of the Dollar General says it’ll be open until 8, which seems a bit early, but that’s later than Target’s current closing time.

The DGX closed a year or so ago, but the corner space has now become a gallery/marketplace for the Roho Collective. Annoyingly, the ostensibly community-focused space still refuses to unlock its door on the corner of Nicollet and 5th.

The other retail space was leased by Xcel for an Innovation Laboratory that shut down after a couple months, as soon as the exec that was pushing for it got distracted by something else. (I got a cool cork-bottomed coffee mug out of them, though, so it wasn't a total waste.)
