This area is going to be completely different in the next few months. I think it's funny how there was no development around here for years and now it's completely different every time I drive through the neighborhood.

The area is growing into the Minneapolis version of Capital Hill in Seattle. All it needs are a few more condo projects , office buildings, and a hotel or two. This area is going to be completely different in the next few months. I think it's funny how there was no development around here for years and now it's completely different every time I drive through the neighborhood.

As of today, it looks like the first foundations have been started since the photo uploaded December 30th.

This and the library are giant holes in the ground. Wish I could get a photo of both somehow. I'm never near either of them during the 30 minutes of daylight we get this time of year though...

Thanks! It's about time one of us got a picture up. As a regular Cheapo customer, I've had plenty of opportunities to stare at this site. For anyone who hasn't been by since they started digging, the hole they dug for this is absolutely massive. I'll try and get out with my fisheye lens this weekend and get some nice wide shots before the foundation fills it in too much.

Did a little photo run, got two pictures of this. In the second, you can see that they're actually modified the sheet pilings to support concrete beams. It's very strange. Also, big hole.

Sometimes I wish I had kept my house in Uptown. It was just a block away from this location.

Glad to see some of the flooring going into the gound. This is coming along nicely.

The Walkway and Lime are the best projects going up in Uptown. They are well connected to the commercial districts and fit nicely within the character and vibe of the surrounding area. Long live retail on the first level with residential on top!

What's up with the lot across the street? Seems like a great parcel for development.

It's owned by the people who own Calhoun Square, and is being held for future expansion.
